Due to Food Drop’s work with charities that often support those that are vulnerable, we are monitoring the outbreak of Coronavirus closely. This is a rapidly developing situation, so we advise people to check the Government and NHS advice for the latest information.

If you have recently returned from one of the specific areas outlined by the Chief Medical Officer, please do not use the Food Drop platform to collect food. The current list of countries with implications for returning passengers can be found here.

In addition to the information contained on the government and NHS England web pages above we advise the following:

  • Do not complete a Food Drop if you are feeling unwell

  • Wash your with warm, soapy water for at least 20 seconds

  • Bring tissues with you to the collection

  • We advise users to carry hand sanitizer with them (with at least 60% alcohol)

  • If you need to cough or sneeze do so into a tissue and throw the tissue immediately into a bin

  • If you do not have a tissue cough or sneeze into your elbow. Do not use your hands.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, mouth or nose with your hands

  • If possible, wash your hands with soap when arriving at your charity

  • Wash your hands with soap before redistributing food

  • Please do ask all recipients to wash their hands with soap for at least 20 seconds before eating the food

  • Safely dispose of bags after each use; or if the bags are re-usable ensure that that they are thoroughly cleaned (with anti-viral wipes and other cleaning products) before use.

  • Please do get in touch with us if you are experiencing any flu like symptoms and have completed a drop recently.

    Thanks,
    Food Drop Team
